Programs Available at Southeastern Institute:

Massage Therapy

The Professional Clinical Massage Therapy program provides instruction in therapeutic massage with advanced training in the treatment of soft tissue ailments, postural distortions, and degenerative process of the body. The program prepares students for employment in medical based facilities such as physicians’ offices and rehabilitation centers, while also training students in the arts associated with a spa setting. Students receive training in massage law, basic massage theory techniques, allied modalities, and neuromuscular clinical massage theory techniques. The program includes practical clinical experience. Upon successful completion of this program, the student will receive a Certificate in Professional Clinical Massage Therapy.

Students can work for chiropractors, neurologists, podiatrists, dentists, rehab centers, hospitals, sports teams, and athletes or for spas, fitness centers, cruise ships, or country clubs.



Medical Assisting

Medical Assisting prepares you for a career that plays an integral role on the physician’s healthcare team. You will train to give injections, administer electrocardiograms, handle insurance claims, maintain patient records, take vital signs, and assist in minor surgical procedures. Your education at Southeastern Institute will teach you how to fulfill all these roles and become a multifaceted healthcare professional.



Medical Billing and Coding

Southeastern Institute’s Medical Billing and Coding program will prepare you to gain employment in medical billing and health information management. You will develop a through knowledge of medical terminology, health records management, insurance procedures, billing software, and medical coding. Graduates are employed in virtually any location where healthcare services are provided including hospitals, insurance companies, private practice offices, assisted living facilities, and laboratories.



Paramedic

Paramedics are highly trained members of the health-care community who utilize clinical decision making to formulate a field impression in order to provide basic and advanced life support. Paramedics are responsible for bringing life-saving diagnostic and treatment skills to the patient at the scene of an emergency. Paramedic is recognized as an allied health occupation in which healthcare workers respond and provide immediate treatment to victims of illness or injury. As the highest level “out-of-hospital” healthcare provider, the paramedic acts as a team leader during an ambulance response to medical emergencies, rescue operations, mass casualty situations, and crime scenes. A diploma will be awarded upon successful completion of this program.

Charleston

The Southeastern Institute of Charleston was founded in 1997. Upon licensure by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, the school was established to provide a clinically based curriculum in the Professional Clinical Massage Therapy training program. The school encompasses 9500 square feet; which includes classrooms, laboratories, a media center, bookstore, and offices. Classrooms are clean, quiet and air-conditioned/heated. There is ample free parking. All equipment used at the school is compatible with industry standards and effectively meets the objectives of the programs.
The school is conveniently located just east of I-26 off of the E. Montague Avenue Exit.



Columbia

Southeastern Institute of Columbia was founded in 1997. Upon licensure by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, the school was established to provide a clinically based curriculum in the Professional Massage Therapy training program. The school encompasses 6200 square feet; which includes classrooms, laboratories, a media center, bookstore, and offices. There is ample free parking. All equipment used at the school is compatible with industry standards and effectively meets the objectives of the programs.
The school is conveniently located just east of I-26 off of the Bush River Road Exit.
